As if the Honor View 20 was not enough, Honor is now prepping to launch an all-new Honor 20-series of devices on May 21. Honor is sending out save your date invites to the media for a global launch event scheduled to take place in London on May 21 where it will launch it’s the Honor 20-series. Basis of an image shared by Honor, it’s almost certain, that the Honor 20-series will focus a great deal on photography – especially low light photography. No further information has been shared.

Rumour has it that Honor is working on a triple rear camera phone called the Honor 20 Pro – that could be one of the devices to launch on May 21. Because Honor is teasing a series, there will likely be multiple devices – so chances of a vanilla Honor 20 can’t be ruled out.

Speaking of specs, the purported Honor 20 Pro will reportedly come with a 6.1-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The processor inside is said to be Huawei’s top-tier Kirin 980 paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

Cameras are said to be the main highlight of the Honor 20 Pro – it is said to come with a triple rear camera setup with a 40MP main camera, alongside a 20MP ultra-wide and 8MP telephoto camera.

The Honor View 20 features an “industry-first 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor” which when coupled with “the AI computing power and graphic processing power enabled by the dual-ISP and dual-NPU of Kirin 980 chipset, will automatically perform multi-frame image processing to create high-definition images.” Xiaomi recently undercut Honor by launching the Redmi Note 7 Pro with the same sensor at a fraction of a cost of the Honor View 20 though.

Regardless, the Honor View 20 was the first phone to spark the megapixel debate and Huawei’s P30 Pro easily has the most megapixels than any other phone in the market. The Honor 20 Pro is said to have the same primary sensor as the Huawei P30 Pro, so that’s a lot to look forward to considering Honor phones are more affordable than their Huawei counterparts.

The Honor 20 Pro will reportedly be available in three configurations - 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB with prices starting at CNY 2,999 which roughly translates to Rs 31,000.

The Honor View 20 currently sells in India at a starting price of Rs 37,999.

Honor is known to drop Easter eggs closer to launch of its many devices – something similar will be expected in the case of the Honor 20-series as well.
