Huawei offshoot brand Honor has confirmed that it will launch its next flagship, aka Honor V30, in November. The Honor V30 is said to come in standard and pro versions with the latter set to get support for 5G connectivity – the former will be 4G. Whatever be the case, both the variant will ship with Huawei’s top-of-the-line Kirin 990 processor.

Honor V30 rumoured specs

While the Honor V20 came with a single punch hole selfie camera (the Honor V20 was in fact the first smartphone in the world to pack a display cutout), the Honor V30 is expected to come with two punch hole selfie cameras – this is reportedly for the pro variant. The pro variant is further said to get an OLED display and a whopping 60MP rear camera. The standard V30 is said to come with an LCD display and a single punch hole selfie camera.

The star of the show will be Huawei’s Kirin 990 which is also seen inside Huawei’s new Mate 30 series phones. The Kirin 990 uses a 7nm FinFET Plus EUV node by TSMC. It has an 8 core CPU – with 2x big Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.86GHz, 2x middle Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.36GHz and 4x small Cortex-A55 clocked at 1.95GHz. The Kirin 990 further has a Mali-G76 GPU. It is Huawei’s Kirin 990 that packs an integrated 5G modem and that’s what will bring the next-generation connectivity standard to the V30 (pro).

For some perspective, the Honor V20 has a 6.4-inch 1080p+ LCD display and a Kirin 980 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. It has a 48MP main camera and a secondary Time-of-Flight camera for depth mapping. On the front, the Honor V20 comes with a 25MP camera. The dual-SIM Honor V20 runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9, and is backed by a massive 4,000mAh battery. The phone also supports advanced GPS for more accurate GPS tracking as well as liquid cooling for extended gaming sessions.

The Honor V30 is expected to launch globally as the Honor View 30 but then Honor will have to launch it with a version of Android minus Google Play store and Google apps.
