Honor will reportedly launch its punch-hole selfie cam toting phone, the Honor View 20, in India at a starting price of Rs 35,999. This is for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the phone and is in line with its China pricing. This means the Honor View 20 will cost way above what its predecessor, the Honor View 10, cost at launch and closer in line with the Honor 10: pitting it straight up against the OnePlus 6T.
The Honor View 20 also has a special edition designed in partnership with Italian luxury fashion house Moschino. This limited-edition version packs 8GB and 256GB storage and sells for around Rs 35,000 in China. Whether or not Honor brings this variant of the Honor View 20 to India is something only time will tell.
The Honor View 20 India launch is scheduled for January 29 and will be sold exclusively via online retail website Amazon India. The e-commerce website has already started taking pre-orders for the smartphone. Honor has announced that those who pre-order the Honor View 20 – by paying Rs 1,000 – will be eligible to get a pair of Honor Bluetooth earphones worth Rs 2,999 for free.
The Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch all-view display which is made possible through a punch-hole selfie camera setup. This selfie camera has a resolution of 25MP. The Honor View 20 also features what is claimed to be an “industry-first 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor” on the rear, in addition to a secondary TOF camera for 3D depth mapping.
It is powered by the Kirin 980 chipset which is notably Huawei’s top-tier 7nm-based chipset also found inside the company’s flagship triple rear camera phone, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
The dual-SIM Honor View 20 runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9, and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The phone also supports advanced GPS for more accurate GPS tracking as well as liquid cooling for extended gaming sessions.
In terms of design, the Honor View 20 has a gradient glass finish and will be available in a choice of colors including red and blue.
