Huawei launched the P30 and P30 Pro phones at a keynote event in Paris on March 26. Curiously, the P30 Lite was not part of the announcement leading many to believe Huawei might just have ditched the Light P phone this year – it seemingly has not. The P30 Lite has been spotted online, and is now available for pre-orders via select channels in the Philippines – it doesn't fall in line with the P30 and P30 Pro at all though, possibly why Huawei did not launch it alongside the P30 and P30 Pro.

The P30 Lite is an affordable mid-tier phone with a gradient design, a waterdrop-style notch and a conventional fingerprint scanner on the back – it has three rear cameras and a 32MP front camera.

Coming to the specs, the P30 Lite comes with a 6.15-inch 1080p+ LCD display and a Kirin 710 processor under the hood. It comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and runs Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.1. The phone further uses a 3,340mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

On to cameras, the P30 Lite comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of one 24MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography.

The P30 Lite price is said to be PHP16,990 (roughly Rs 22,000) for the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage with some channels ready to ship the phone as early as April 4. The P30 Lite is said to be available in black, white and blue colour options.

Clearly, the P30 Lite is a budget phone when compared with something like the P30. Huawei has launched the P30 at a price of Euros 799 for the version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which roughly translates to Rs 62,000. The P30 Pro has meanwhile been launched at a starting price of Euros 999 (roughly Rs 78,000) for the base version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage going all the way to Euros 1,249 (roughly Rs 97,000) for the top-end version with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
