Huawei is gearing to launch the next-generation of P-series phones, aka the P30 and P30 Pro, at a global keynote event in Paris on March 26. Both the P30 and P30 Pro have leaked online, way ahead of launch, giving us a first-hand look at everything that could be in store – this includes design as well as hardware specs. The leak seems to suggest that even though the P30 and P30 Pro will share some specs, they’ll offer radically different hardware – the P30 Pro will of course be Huawei’s top-tier flagship of the 2019 until the company launches the next Mate-series phone possibly towards the end of the year.

The P30 and P30 Pro will retain Huawei’s signature gradient all-glass (and metal) design – while the P30 is said to come Black, Twilight and Aurora Blue options, the P30 Pro will reportedly come in Black, Twilight, Aurora Blue and Sunrise Red options. Both the phones will pack in-display fingerprint tech but while the P30 Pro will use curved glass (like the Mate 20 Pro), the P30 will have a flatter bezel. Huawei isn’t seemingly giving in to punching a hole in the screen just yet – both the P30 and P30 Pro will have a teardrop-style notch basis of the leaked renders.

Both the phones are said to come with OLED screens with 1080p+ resolution but while the P30 Pro is said to come with a larger 6.47-inch display, the P30 is said to have a smaller 6.1-inch display. Both the phones will reportedly come with a 32MP camera embedded into the notch.

While the P30 Pro is said to pack four rear cameras, the P30 will reportedly come with a triple rear camera setup. Purported camera specs of the P30 Pro include a 40MP main sensor with OIS and f/1.6 aperture, a 20MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto sensor capable of simulating 10x hybrid zoom, and a Time-Of-Flight (ToF) camera for 3D depth sensing. The vanilla P30 is said to include a 40MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 16MP wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

Both the phones are said to be powered by Huawei’s top-of-the-line Kirin 980 processor but while the P30 Pro is said to come with up to 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, the P30 will reportedly come with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage – both the phones will reportedly support expandable storage via Huawei’s proprietary NM cards. The P30 Pro will reportedly come with a 4,200mAh battery while the P30 is said to pack a smaller 3,650mAh battery – support for Huawei’s SuperCharge will be a standard across the board.

Lastly, while the P30 will reportedly keep the headphone jack, the P30 Pro will come without one.

As mentioned earlier, Huawei will launch the P30 and P30 Pro phones on March 26 – there could be more products to unveil including two more follow up smart wearables – aka Huawei Watch GT Active and Huawei Watch GT Elegant.
