Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is the cheapest phone you can get in India with a pop-up selfie camera

Huawei launched its first pop-up selfie camera-toting phone, aka Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, in India on Thursday. Launched at a price of Rs 15,990, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is now the cheapest phone you can get in India with a pop-up selfie camera. The phone will be available for buying from across offline and online sales channels. 

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 continues Huawei’s signature gradient finish design, although the company is using a unique dual tone scheme on this one – the phone will be available in Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue options. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. 

In terms of core specs, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 has a 6.59-inch LCD display with a 1080p+ resolution. The phone is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 710 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1 and pack a 4,000mAh battery under the hood. 

On to the optics, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of one 16MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensor. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 triple camera setup AI is claimed to identify 22 categories and 500+ scenes in real-time. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 further comes with a 16MP pop-up selfie camera. The front camera supports AI features like 3D portrait.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 India price and availability 

The Huawei Y9 2019 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 15,990 for the variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. Online, the phone will be available for buying from Amazon India from August 7 (12PM) for Prime users, and from August 8 (12PM) for all. Offline, the phone will be available for buying from Croma, Poorvika and all other retail outlets with pre-booking starting from August 5 – those who pre-book the phone will be eligible to get Huawei Sport BT headphones and 15,600mAh powerbank worth Rs 4,598 for free.
