Infinix S5 with punch hole display, quad cameras launched in India 

Transsion Holdings-backed Infinix launched the affordable punch hole display toting Infinix S5 in India on Wednesday at a price of Rs 8,999 - this is for the standalone variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. This makes the Infinix S5 the most affordable smartphone in India to come with a punch hole display. The phone also comes with quad rear cameras, a 32MP front camera, and a sizeable 4,000mAh battery. The Infinix S5 will be available for buying from October 21 from online retail website Flipkart. 

Infinix S5 specs and features

Joining the trend of fancy gradient designs, the Infinix S5 also boasts of a colour shifting design – the phone will be available in Quetzal Crystal and Violet colours. It’s still all plastic on the inside though. On the front, the Infinix S5 has a 6.6-inch 720p+ display with a punch hole cut out for the selfie camera. 

Under the hood, the Infinix S5 has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based XOS 5.5 which is Infinix’s custom skin. The phone further packs a 4,000mAh battery with micro-USB charging.   

The Infinix S5 has four cameras on the rear - there’s a primary 16MP camera, a 5MP wide-angle camera (that’s also capable of shooting macros or 2.5cm extreme close-ups), a 2MP camera for depth sensing aka portrait photography, and another low-light sensor. On the front, the Infinix S5 has a 32MP camera.

The Infinix S5 will go on sale in India for the first time from Flipkart from 12PM on October 21.
