The MWC 2019 could potentially turn into a showcase for next-gen 5G-enabled smartphones. In this regard, South Korean electronics brand LG could also have its own 5G handset unveiling next year thereby adding substance to rumour mills which of late have been rife with the brand showing off next-gen phones.
Now, as per a ETNews report, there could be an LG G8 smartphone introduced during early 2019. This handset is also speculated to go global during March this year. Another aspect that has also surfaced via the ETNews report is that there could also be a 5G-enabled smartphone from LG in addition to the G8.
This 5G handset is also said to be launched after the launch of the G8. The latter could also feature a 3D camera, and a water droplet notch-like pattern exterior display pattern. Also, as far as the purported 5G handset is concerned, the phone is said to most likely be a sub-series by itself and not essentially falling into any of LG’s existing sub brands (also monikers).
This means that the rumoured LG G8 could surprisingly be an LTE enabled phone; potentially catering to the value-for-money segment rather than turn out as a flagship. In this regard, LG loyalists could share their thoughts and insights.
Another detail that has surfaced from the above report is the codename for LG 5G smartphone (still purported at this point in time). The handset is said to have a codename called “Pride” at this juncture. However, LG is yet to officially issue statements/updates regarding the hugely rumoured 5G smartphone; as well as the G8 next-gen handset.
As far as 5G is concerned, Samsung is expected by loyalists to unveil new 5G-enabled phones at this year’s Mobile World Congress. The next-gen Galaxy S10 that is now rumoured to be in the works could be a 5G smartphone going by loyalist expectations. Rumour mills are abuzz with the Galaxy S10 being a 6-camera smartphone; apart from offering compatibility with the next-gen 5G wireless network standard. At this juncture, it only makes sense to anticipate till the MWC 2019; that is not far away from now.
