LG Rumoured To Showcase Smartphones Offering Option To Attach Additional Screen

A future flagship smartphone from LG could offer the option to attach a second screen to the existing display. At this juncture, an LG G8 is hugely rumoured to be in the launch pipeline of the South Korea-based company.

Now, as per a Cnet report, that quotes sources said to be familiar with LG’s plans, this smartphone offering users an option to add an additional screen could even be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) that takes place from February 25 at Barcelona in Spain. The Cnet report also states that this handset would not come with foldable displays, and also LG is speculated to be coming out with multiple smartphones at the MWC 2019. Hence, this smartphone in question may not necessarily continue the company’s G smartphone branding legacy. In fact, there could be another entirely new series of premium smartphones as well - carrying unique branding and nomenclature.

It is not known whether the attachment of the screen that is rumoured to be on offer at the MWC 2019 would come with screen protector (casing). Hence, it only makes sense for LG loyalists to anticipate the arrival of MWC 2019 which is not too far away from now. The company could officially reveal smartphone plans as and when the MWC 2019 nears.

In related news, the MWC 2019 is also expected by consumer technology loyalists to lead to the witnessing of creative smartphones especially flagships from multiple major brands. This could potentially lead to the showcasing of the Sony Xperia XZ4 next-gen handset that is hugely expected by Sony loyalists to be launched during MWC 2019. Sony also reportedly stated that it would launch smartphones in 2019 resulting out of major strategy reshuffles/revamps.  

In related developments, Samsung is also hugely rumoured to be holding an Unpacked event on February 21 before the MWC 2019 where the South Korea-based company could unveil the Galaxy S10; here, this could be the cynosure of all eyes considering the fact that Samsung may jump on the 5G bandwagon relatively early.
