The LG V40 ThinQ has been officially launched in India at a maximum retail price (MRP) of Rs 60,000 but looks like Amazon India will be selling it for as low as Rs 49,990. The LG V40 ThinQ is now available for pre-order in India exclusively via Amazon India, exclusively for Prime members. The phone will be available for pre-order for non-Prime members from January 20. Shipping starts from January 24.

LG is bringing only the top-end version of the LG V40 ThinQ with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage to India at this point of time. Colour options on offer will be grey and blue.

The LG V40 ThinQ, to recall, was first announced in October last year and is follow-up to the V30 from 2017. LG’s V-series are known for their impressive audio credentials, but with the LG V40 ThinQ, LG is also seemingly going over-board with cameras. The LG V40 ThinQ comes with five cameras in all.

It has three cameras on the rear: a standard 12MP sensor (f/1.5 aperture), a 12MP telephoto and another 16MP ultrawide sensor with 107-degree field-of-view. On the front, the LG V40 ThinQ comes with two cameras, a standard 8MP camera and another 5MP wide-angle camera for group selfies.

In terms of core hardware, the LG V40 ThinQ comes with a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display (with notch) with support for HDR 10 and Dolby Vision, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage which is also expandable, Android 8.1 Oreo software and a 3,300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3. The LG V40 ThinQ is IP68 and MIL-STD-81G certified and supports DTS-X surround sound audio.

The LG V40 ThinQ, like all LG flagship phones, is jam-packed with features but it comes at a time when rivals are readying their 2020 flagships. Flagships with the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, like the Samsung Galaxy S10. The LG V40 ThinQ packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, something that could become a deal breaker for buyers looking for only the best from their purchase.

Regardless, the penta-camera setup is something that is unique to the LG V40 ThinQ setting it apart from everything that’s there (and coming) in the market. LG will be looking to cash in on that aspect, and if the cameras on-board the LG G7+ ThinQ are any indication, the LG V40 ThinQ might just pull a rabbit out of its own hat as well. We will have more to say about the LG V40 ThinQ in the days to come. Stay tuned.
