A new Micromax smartphone is now in the anvil and this handset is all set to surface on December 18. This announcement from the company comes after a relatively long period of time considering the fact that Micromax was known for budget offerings and not too long ago the local smartphone brand had posed stiff competition to the likes of Samsung with respect to smartphone shipments.

Now, Micromax has teased the launch of a new handset; with the tagline #AboveTheRest. The company recently released a tweet indicating the launch of this handset; and gauging the tweet, it is clear that the display featured by the smartphone would follow a notch-style pattern.

Also, at this point in time, rumour mills are rife with the fact about this new potential handset from Micromax falling in the budget category which has been considered as a strong zone for the brand in India. This handset could also be an addition to the brand’s already existing Infinity/Canvas Series which are a range of phones incorporating premium specifications but priced relatively on the affordable side.

The key technical specifications of the new Micromax phone are yet to surface at this point in time, but going by what Chinese brands have dished out in recent times and how these have appealed to the Indian consumers, it is likely that the key technical aspects and pricing of the Micromax handset would lie on the competitive side.

Hence, you can share thoughts and insights on the ways ahead for Micromax as far as its latest yet-to-be-released phone is concerned. Here, it is worth noting that Micromax last launched and released a smartphone in October; these were affordably-priced handsets. It is now about time that we get to see a true Micromax-styled smartphone offering value rather than just competing with Chinese smartphone brands in India. Keep your ears and eyes open.
