Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility launched the entry-level Moto E6s phone in India on Monday at a price of Rs 7,999. The Moto E6s is a rebranded Moto E6 Plus which was announced at IFA 2019 alongside the Motorola One Zoom. The Moto E6s will be available for buying in India from Flipkart from September 23.

Speaking of specs, the Moto E6s comes with a 6.1-inch 720p+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie software and packs a 3,000mAh battery with micro-USB charging. The Moto E6s further come with a dual rear camera system consisting of a 13MP main camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, the Moto E6s comes with an 8MP camera.

Speaking of design, the Moto E6s comes with an all-plastic body with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone will be available for buying in two colors - Polished Graphite and Rich Cranberry.

The Moto E6s will compete with phones like the Xiaomi Redmi 7A and Realme 3i. Just like the Xiaomi Redmi 7A and Realme 3i, the Moto E6s is also designed for fist-time users who’re looking to make a switch from a feature phone – without burning a hole in their pocket. The one thing that will really set the Moto E6s apart from competition will be its clean Android software even as phones like the Redmi 7A and Realme 3i are based on custom third-party skins.

In other news, Motorola recently launched the Motorola One Action phone in India at a price of Rs 13,999. The main USP of the Motorola One Action is its dedicated 16MP ultra-wide action video camera with a 117-degree field-of-view – the Moto One Action aspires to offer GoPro-like experiences at more affordable prices. Not only does the Moto One Action use 4-in-1-pixel binning for enhanced light sensitivity, Motorola is also using software to reduce shakiness while you’re shooting. There’s also a clever workaround that allows the Motorola One Action to record in landscape when the phone is held vertically and vice versa - Motorola engineers have physically rotated the camera sensor to be able to do this.
