Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility will launch a new budget phone, called the Moto E6s, in India on September 16. This seems to be the same phone that the company started teasing on social media recently, but while it was speculated that the phone in question would be the Moto E6 Plus, that doesn’t seem to be the case. That said, the few specs and design details that Motorola has shared on Flipkart – where the phone will be available for buying from – suggest the Moto E6s could be a rebranded Moto E6 Plus for the Indian market.

As per the phone’s dedicated landing page on Flipkart, the Moto E6s will come with what seems to be an all-plastic body sans a fingerprint scanner. The phone will come with a 6.1-inch 720p+ display with a waterdrop-style notch and 64GB of on-board storage. There will be 4GB RAM and dual rear cameras – consisting of a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

Launched at IFA 2019

The Moto E6 Plus, which was recently launched at IFA 2019, comes with a 6.1-inch 720p+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie software and packs a 3,000mAh battery with micro-USB charging. The Moto E6 Plus further come with a dual rear camera system consisting of a 13MP main camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, the Moto E6 Plus comes with an 8MP camera.

Design

Speaking of design, the Moto E6 Plus comes with an all-plastic body with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is available for buying in two colors - Polished Graphite and Bright Cherry with a starting price of Euros 139 (roughly Rs 11,000).

The Moto E6 Plus was launched alongside the Motorola One Zoom at IFA 2019. It would be interesting to see if Motorola brings that to India anytime soon.

In other news, Motorola is also rumored to launch its first Android-based smart TV in India on September 16.
