Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility silently launched the Moto G7 phone in India on Monday. The company has launched the Moto G7 in India at a market operating price (MOP) of Rs 16,999. This is for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Moto G7. The Moto G7 is now available for buying in India from both online (Flipkart) as well as offline sales channels.

The Moto G7 India launch follows close on the heels of Motorola launching the Moto G7 Power in the country - at a market operating price (MOP) of Rs 13,999 for the Moto G7 Power version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Moto G7 and Moto G7 Power, to recall, were globally announced at a stand-alone keynote event in Brazil in February, alongside the Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Play. There is no word when Motorola will launch the Moto G7 Plus and Moto G7 Play in India for now.

Coming to the specs of the newly launched phone, the Moto G7 is one of the two premium models in the Moto G7 series (the other being the Moto G7 Plus) with a glass body, dual rear cameras and a teardrop-style notch. The phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and the back (it has a plastic frame) and is also splash-resistant, according to Motorola – it measures 8mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Moto G7 comes with a 6.2-inch 1080p+ LCD display with a teardrop notch and 19:9 aspect ratio – Motorola calls it Max Vision. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Pie software (with Moto enhancements called Moto experiences) and packs a 3,000mAh battery with 15W TurboPower charging support which is claimed to offer 9 hours of usage in 15 minutes of charging – the phone charges via USB Type-C.

On to cameras, the Moto G7 sports a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Moto G7 comes with an 8MP camera that can also shoot software-assisted portrait selfies.
