Lenovo-owned Motorola could be getting closer to introducing its upcoming Moto G7 lineup next month. Last year, the company hosted Moto G6 launch event in Brazil and they are more likely to stick to the same location for the launch of Moto G7 this time around. Ahead of the official announcement, we are already hearing about multiple phones that are expected to fall under Moto G7 lineup. In a recent development, one of the upcoming smartphones, Moto G7 Play has been spotted on a benchmarking website Geekbench.

Earlier, there was a report that Motorola is likely to take the wraps off four new smartphones as part of the unveiling: Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power. Similar to Moto G7, the Geekbench listing of Moto G7 Play reveals the older Snapdragon 625 processor featuring 2GB RAM.

In a nutshell, this seems like a noteworthy upgrade given that last year’s Moto G6 Play was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. The handset scores 1173 in single-core and 4090 in the multi-core test respectively.

Moto G7 Play's Geekbench scores appear to be moderately similar to that of Moto G7. But in fact, they are a bit lower and smaller RAM size could be the reason behind lower scores. Much like other Moto G7 variants, the Geekbench listing further shows that Moto G7 Play will run Android 9.0 pie operating system out of the box. More details are awaited.

According to reports, Moto G7 Play is expected to start at Euros 149 (roughly Rs 12,120). It is said to be available in two colour options: gold and blue. Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus should be priced significantly higher, and they are expected in black and white, and blue and red options.
