The Moto G8 Plus is now available for buying in India from online retail website Flipkart. The Moto G8 Plus has been launched in India at a competitive price of Rs 13,999 for the sole variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is available in two colour options - Cosmic Blue and Crystal Pink.

Moto G8 Plus specs

In terms of core hardware, the Moto G8 Plus comes with a 6.3-inch 1080p+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs near stock Android 9 Pie software out-of-the-box. The Moto G8 Plus is further backed by a sizeable 4,000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging.

On to the optics, the Moto G8 Plus comes with three rear cameras – a 48MP main camera, a 16MP ultrawide-angle camera and a 5MP depth camera. On the front, the Moto G8 Plus comes with a 25MP selfie camera.

At its price, the Moto G8 Plus competes with phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Realme XT – both of which boast of attractive glass design and 64MP quad rear cameras. The Moto G8 Plus may seem lacking a bit when it comes to hardware as well as design, against these phones, but it will be banking on its near stock Android experience with minimal bloat or unwanted apps to make a selling.

Motorola has tried to differentiate the Moto G8 Plus from previous Moto G phones with its fancy new gradient design which is said to be also water-repellant – underneath, it’s still all-plastic though. The phone has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

The Moto G8 Plus is a good upgrade over the Moto G7 Plus, at least on paper, which makes it an attractive option for those looking for a hassle-free phone with software that’s closer to how Google imagines it without bloat or ads.
