Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility has confirmed that it is bringing back the iconic Razr, only its 2019 avatar will be a smartphone and it will be foldable. No further details including a tentative time of launch have been shared though. Even though the Moto Razr 2019 has leaked multiple times, its actual look remains largely a mystery – until today. Renders of the alleged Moto Razr 2019, said to be the Moto Razr V4, have leaked online giving us a first-hand look at what could be in store.

Moreover, one of the renders also shows off the alleged Moto Razr 2019’s retail box as well as the bundled accessories – one look at it and you’ll know we’re dealing with something special here. The package looks nothing short of a collectible – as it should be, since it literally brings back a legend.

As per the renders, the Moto Razr V4 could ship with a wireless charger, earbuds, USB-C charging cable, a power adapter and a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle in the box. While wireless charging is welcome, it’s disappointing that there’s no headphone jack on this one. Still, since nothing of this is official, we advise you to take these renders with a pinch of salt.

The 2019 Moto Razr will be a foldable phone but it won’t be as drastic a foldable phone like the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X – in fact, a patent filing seems to suggest it will look a lot like the original Moto Razr, which means that it will also be a flip phone. Only, the new Razr will have a screen (possibly OLED) on the inside that will simply pass through the hinge.

Back in January, a WSJ report said that Lenovo owned Motorola Mobility will launch a foldable Razr phone in February – but that did not happen. A proper release date is still awaited.

The updated Moto Razr will reportedly be exclusive to Verizon which means that it will be exclusively available in the US (at least, initially) and it will start at around $1,500 which is still in the affordable ball-park when you consider the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X.

Rumoured hardware specs include a 6.2-inch main display with 876×2142 pixel resolution and a secondary outer or cover display with a resolution of 600x800 pixel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The foldable Razr phone is said to pack 2,730mAh battery and will reportedly come in three colours: white, black and gold.
