Motorola will launch its next phone focused on macro photography in India on October 9 – the same day Xiaomi launches the Redmi 8 in the country. Motorola’s new phone is expected to be called the Moto One Macro and its main highlight will reportedly be its dedicated macro lens that will allow users to take close-up or macro shots. Motorola has been teasing the phone on social media for a while now without actually revealing the name of the product.

The upcoming Motorola phone has now got its own landing page on Flipkart – confirming that the phone will be sold via the same online retailer after launch. The landing page confirms that Motorola will launch the phone on October 9 – again, without revealing the name of the product. The page also highlights the phone’s macro capabilities, in addition to a few other aspects like power efficient performance, lag-free multitasking and rapid or fast charging.

One Macro Specs

Rumoured specs of the Motorola One Macro include a 6.2-inch display (possibly with a dewdrop-style notch), an octa-core processor, and a 4,000mAh battery. In terms of cameras, the Motorola One Macro will reportedly come with a 13MP main camera and two 2MP cameras, one of which would seemingly use a macro lens. On the front, the Motorola One Macro is said to come with an 8MP camera.

Motorola has been keeping busy in India. The company has launched a number of Moto One phones in the country over the last couple of months, the most recent one being the Moto One Action. The main USP of the Motorola One Action is its dedicated 16MP ultra-wide action video camera with a 117-degree field-of-view. The Motorola One Action brings GoPro-like video recording smarts to the masses. The Motorola One Action costs Rs 13,999 in India.

Going by what’s set to be in store, looks like the Moto One Macro is also all set to be an affordable phone that’s likely to be priced around Rs 15,000 – or even less.

In other news, Xaiomi will launch its own budget phone, aka Redmi 8, in India on October 9. The Redmi 8 is expected to start at under Rs 10,000 and will bring features like a big battery and a dewdrop notch display to the masses.
