Could there be a new Nokia triple camera smartphone in the works; along with a new display design pattern. This smartphone is also hugely rumoured to be a next-gen edition.

Now, as per a GizChina report, that apparently quotes Weibo postings, this alleged Nokia smartphone would come with a notchless display pattern. There have also been rumours regarding the surfacing of multiple images showing a Nokia smartphone with triple rear camera lenses . At this juncture, it is worth noting that Nokia is yet to come out with official updates about the purported triple camera phone developed by Nokia; nonetheless, expectations amongst loyalists are rife about HMD Global releasing new handsets to compete with the newest 5G trends that are expected (by consumer technology ;loyalists) to go official by 2020 and Android 9.0 (Pie) trends.

Also, the key technical specifications of the above Nokia triple camera handsets are yet to even surface. Hence, Nokia loyalists are advised to exercise caution even before thinking about a triple camera handset. Currently, HMD Global has a seemingly impressive lineup of smartphone most of which have been eligible to receive Android 9.0 (Pie) as a n OS update ; over their existing Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating platforms.

In related news, Nokia (by HMD Global) is still a dominant player as far as feature phone market shares globally is concerned. As per a Counterpoint Research report study, Nokia had 14% market share in Q3 2018. The Nokia 3310 was the highly preferred feature phone as per this study. The Asia Pacific and Africa regions accounted for intense feature phone usage by region.

Hence, it becomes imminent from the above statistics that Nokia  is reportedly posing competition to the likes of Reliance Jio which has its own 4G feature phone lineup in the country; and the brand accounted for 11% feature phones as per the above research.
