Apparently, 12GB RAM phones have set the bar high for all the next-gen flagship smartphones. It all started with Lenovo offering with 12 gigs of RAM last year and now, Samsung has two new 12GB RAM phones - Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy Fold - in its portfolio. In what could be a new flagship series from Chinese smartphone maker Vivo, a new smartphone - Vivo iQOO - has entered the flagship arena with whopping 12GB of RAM! It's being touted as gaming smartphone.

Vivo iQOO is now available in China and we don't know yet whether it's coming to India anytime soon. Given the specifications, Vivo iQOO will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S10+, OnePlus 6T, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Apple iPhone XS Max. Let's see what Vivo iQOO is all about.

Vivo iQOO features and specifications

The main highlight, Vivo iQOO phone features 12GB of RAM, Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 chip, gradient colour design and a water-drop notch at the front. However, there are multiple variants of Vivo iQOO available in the market: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. It runs Android 9 Pie with FunTouch OS on top.

Vivo V15 Pro has more camera megapixels than a typical DSLR, but are they any good?

Up front, it provides users with a 6.41 inches panel featuring 2,340 x 1,080 Full HD+ resolution. A water-drop notch blends into the display, making room for a 12MP shooter for selfies and video calls. On the back, however, it houses a triple rear camera setup. It features a 13MP primary sensor alongside a 12MP wide-angle and 2MP depth sensor for bokeh shots.

Vivo iQOO packs a 4,000mAh battery under the hood. Vivo claims it can charge the device to 100 per cent in only 45 minutes, courtesy of Vivo's 44W Super Flash Charge technology.

Vivo iQOO price and availability

Vivo iQOO starts at 2,998 yuan (Rs 31,750) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Second variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs 3,298 yuan (Rs 35,000). The top-of-the-line variant of Vivo iQOO with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs 4,298 yuan (Rs 45,500). Currently, it's up for pre-orders and goes on sale starting March 6th.
