The Poco F1 is now receiving the Android Pie based MIUI 10.2.2.0 Global Stable ROM update in India that adds 960fps slow-motion video recording and enhanced low-light mode to Xiaomi’s value flagship. The update is now rolling out in batches which means not every Poco F1 unit will get it at the same time.

The Poco team has been actively working on churning out timely MIUI updates for the Poco F1 and has been actively letting users know what’s in store in the days to come, through its community forum. The company still has a host of features that it is currently working on including Widevine L1 support for the Poco F1, along with the support for 4K video recording at 60fps.

Key standouts of MIUI 10.2.2.0 Global Stable ROM update for the Poco F1 include 960fps slow-motion video recording and enhanced low-light mode. The Poco F1 previously allowed for 120fps and 240fps slow-motion video recording, but users will now be able to record them at 960fps as well. The enhanced low-light mode, meanwhile, seems to be Poco’s take on Xiaomi’s Super Night Scene feature. Poco says the feature “takes 8 photos at different exposures and merges them into one brighter, higher-quality shot,” entailing in better low-light photos.

The MIUI 10.2.2.0 Global Stable ROM update also bumps up the Android security patch level to December 2018.

The Poco F1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI and is already upgradable to Android Pie-based MIUI. The Poco F1 notably runs a tweaked version of MIUI with the company’s own Poco launcher. The biggest highlight of the Poco launcher is possibly the fact that it brings an app drawer to Xiaomi’s MIUI. Poco has also gone so far as to hint that Poco phones with Poco launcher will be updated faster than Xiaomi phones, and by the looks of it, it has been able to stick to that promise ever since.

In other news, the Xiaomi Poco F1 is selling for as low as Rs 18,999 on Flipkart during the online retail website's ongoing Republic Day sales event. There's also additional 10 per cent instant discount on SBI cards.
