Nokia 3.1, the mid-range smartphone, released during the second half of 2018 is now available to buy at fairly reduced prices. The handset is now available online at Rs 9900; that represents a near Rs 2000 reduction from its original pricing of Rs 11500.

Now both the major e-tailers viz Amazon and Flipkart have seemingly replaced the original pricing of the smartphones with the new prices. However, it seems that the new Rs 9900 pricing of the Nokia 3.1 Plus is yet to be reflected on the official Nokia eStore. For the uninitiated, the Nokia 3.1 Plus offers key technical aspects to users such as:

  • 6-inch display having resolutions of 720 x 1440 pixels
  • Android One operating platform; currently driven by Android 8.1 (Oreo)
  • Octa-core MediaTek MT6762 SoC
  • Dual SIM-card support
  • 13MP + 5MP dual rear cameras
  • 8MP front snapper
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal storage
  • MicroSD card slot to expand internal storage up to 400 GB
  • LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB 2.0 connectivity
  • 3500 mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

At this instant, it is also worth noting that other Nokia premium smartphones such as the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus received price cuts recently where the handsets were available for purchase at Rs 10999 and Rs 14999 respectively. Additionally, ate the CES 2019 Nokia reportedly had a presence where there was a Nokia 8110 feature phone driven by KaiOS and a JioPhone, along with another phone on display at Google’s booth during the event.

The “other” phone here is now estimated by rumour mills to be the Nokia N9; this undoubtedly throws hints at whether there is an improved next-gen variant of the Nokia N9 in the launch pipeline. In case there is, would this be driven by the KaiOS platform that now supports essential apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube? Do share thoughts/insights.
