A day after teasing it on social media, HMD Global has launched its affordable mid-ranger, the Nokia 7.2 in India, at a starting price of Rs 18,599. The Nokia 7.2 was launched alongside the Nokia 6.2 at IFA 2019 – the company isn’t bringing the Nokia 6.2 to India at this point of time. The Nokia 7.2 will be available for buying in India from September 23 via both online and offline sales channels. 

The Nokia 7.2 boasts of an all-glass body (Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front as well as on the back) with triple cameras embedded inside a Nokia Lumia-like circular module and physical. These cameras are fine-tuned by ZEISS. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. The Nokia 7.2 will come in Cyan Green and Charcoal color options. 

Nokia 7.2 specs and features 

The Nokia 7.2 comes with a 6.3-inch 1080p+ display with a waterdrop-style notch – the screen’s hallmark PureView with HDR10 support and is also capable of upscaling standard content to HDR. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is also expandable. The Nokia 7.2 further runs Android 9 Pie software and is claimed to be “Android 10 ready with Android One. The phone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with standard 10W charging – no fast charging.  

On to the cameras, the Nokia 7.2 comes with three cameras on the rear – a 48MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle camera with 118-degree field-of-view and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the Nokia 7.2 comes with a 20MP camera.

Nokia 7.2 India price and availability 

The Nokia 7.2 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 18,599 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, going all the way to Rs 19,599 for the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Nokia 7.2 will be available for buying in India from September 23 from Nokia.com/phones and Flipkart, and from mobile retail outlets across the country.
