After bringing back the Nokia 3310 and the Nokia 8110, HMD Global is bringing back the Nokia 2720 Flip – exactly 10 years after it made its debut. Part of its much nostalgic “Nokia Originals” lineup, the Nokia 2720 Flip also tries to recreate the look and feel of the original, albeit with a slight twist. While the original was a dumb feature phone, the Nokia 2720 Flip 2019 is much smarter. The Nokia 2720 Flip 2019 supports 4G. 

Not only does the new Nokia 2720 Flip support 4G and VoLTE, you can also download and install apps like Facebook and WhatsApp on it. This is because the Nokia 2720 Flip runs KaiOS software which is a custom fork of Firefox OS, also seen in the JioPhone. Not only does KaiOS make the Nokia 2720 Flip smart, it also brings a dedicated KaiOS app store to it.

HMD tries to recreate the look and feel of old-school Nokia – under the Nokia Originals – keeping things as close to the real thing as possible. In the case Nokia 2720 Flip, it’s all about the old-school feel of owning a flip phone in 2019 – even as OEMs are hard at work trying to crack the foldable code. The Nokia 2720 Flip is no less a foldable in its own way – the feature phone has two screens, one on the inside and another one on the outside. More specifically, the Nokia 2720 Flip has a 2.8-inch internal display with a QVGA resolution, while on the outside it has a smaller 1.3-inch display for checking notifications.  

But here’s the thing – the Nokia 2720 Flip lets you flip open the phone to answer a call, while closing it ends it.  

Speaking of specs, the Nokia 2720 Flip packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 SoC with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which is also expandable, a 2-megapixel camera on the rear with flash, and a 1,500mAh battery. Connectivity options on the Nokia 2720 Flip include, single-SIM/dual-SIM, 4G LTE (VoLTE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS - not only does the Nokia 2720 Flip support Wi-Fi, it can function as a Wi-Fi hotspot as well. 

Nokia 2720 price and availability 

The Nokia 2720 Flip has been launched at a price of Euros 89 (roughly Rs 7,000) and will be available for buying starting this month. The Nokia 2720 Flip will be available in Ocean Blue, Black and Pink colors.
