The upcoming OnePlus 7T is likely to bring a OnePlus 7 Pro-like 90Hz display to the masses. OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau has seemingly confirmed the same in an interview with CNET. Without explicitly naming the device, Lau has said that the overwhelming positive response that the OnePlus 7 Pro’s one-of-its-kind 90Hz display has received from users, has pushed OnePlus into bringing it to the masses – through a soon-to-launch product that’s very likely to be the OnePlus 7T.

"OnePlus was the first in the industry to use a QHD Plus 90Hz AMOLED screen with the ultrapremium OnePlus 7 Pro. The overwhelming positive feedback pushed us to bring 90Hz, which we believe will become standard on flagship phones, to our highly acclaimed premium lineup so that more people can experience the smooth scrolling display,” Lau is quoted as saying in the report.

OnePlus 7T rumored specs and features

Rumors that the OnePlus 7T will ship with a 90Hz display have been doing the rounds of the Internet for a while now – so can’t say that that’s very surprising although the confirmation does build up hype of what else could be true about the OnePlus 7T.

According to serial tipster Ishan Agarwal, the OnePlus 7T is set to get a 6.55-inch 2K AMOLED display with a segment first 90Hz refresh rate. This is a big departure from the incumbent OnePlus 7 that has to make do with a 1080p+ AMOLED screen with the usual 60Hz refresh rate. While a 90Hz display does sound interesting, this could mean the OnePlus 7T could see pricing go up too, in comparison to the OnePlus 7.

Elsewhere, the OnePlus 7T is said to come with Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855+ processor – which will be a slight upgrade over the OnePlus 7’s Snapdragon 855. This is said to be paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Battery capacity is said to get a slight boost too with the OnePlus 7T getting a 3,800mAh pack. The OnePlus 7T is further said to come with three rear cameras – a 48MP main, and a 16MP+12MP combo that will be capable of shooting 960FPS slow-mo and wide-angle videos. On the front, the OnePlus 7T is said to come with a 16MP camera.

OnePlus 7T rumored launch date

Rumor has it that OnePlus may launch the OnePlus 7T sooner than one would have anticipated – on September 26, instead of the usual October-November launch window. Same day that it launches the OnePlus TV in India.
