OnePlus ropes in 'Iron Man' to promote the OnePlus 7 series in India

OnePlus just announced a new campaign in collaboration with 'Avengers; Endgame' star Robert Downey Jr, and OnePlus is already calling it a long-term campaign.

Yes, you read that right! The 'Iron Man' and Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus have come together following the launch of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Well, folks over at OnePlus just announced a new campaign in collaboration with 'Avengers; Endgame' star Robert Downey Jr, and OnePlus is already calling it a long-term campaign. This campaign will feature the Iron Man actor in a series of brand creatives across channels in India and China.

"Working with Robert Downey Jr, we see that these ideologies are reflected in him as well, in his creativity and dedication," Pete Lau, founder and chief executive officer of OnePlus said. "This synergy has us convinced that nobody could represent what we stand for better and we are delighted to welcome Robert Downey Jr into the OnePlus family."

Robert Downey Jr on the other hand talked about how he finds it cool to see a young brand disrupting the tech landscape and also touched on the role that he would play in the campaign, "I was challenged to help them create an authentic campaign based on the tenets of quality and craftsmanship, and it’s already proving to be a great fit creatively."

In what could be good news for OnePlus fans, the 'Iron Man' also complimented their latest flagship OnePlus 7 Pro, although could very well be a part of the marketing campaign. 

"In checking out the upcoming ‘OnePlus 7 Pro’ the attention to detail coupled with innovative design was truly impressive."

While announcing this collaboration, OnePlus talks a lot about the brand's youthfulness and "Never Settle" spirit. In fact, OnePlus wants to reiterate the "disruptive" role that it has played in the smartphone industry with this new campaign.

This association with Robert Downey Jr. is yet another milestone for the young brand’s growth story. As an iconic personality, successful actor and someone who is best known for standing apart from the crowd, he is an embodiment of the ‘Never Settle’ spirit that has been OnePlus' motto from the very first smartphone. 

Last month, the 'Iron Man' actor said that he will be coming to India soon, and if all goes well, this collaboration with OnePlus might be a very good reason for him to come to India.
