Oppo has launched a new mid-ranger called the Oppo K5 alongside the flagship Reno Ace in China. The Oppo K5 seems to be a rebranded Realme X2 down to the T, at least as far as core hardware is concerned. Like the Realme X2, the Oppo K5 also seems to be a China-only affair for now and while Realme is expected to launch the former as the Realme X2 730G in India sometime in December, it is yet to be seen if Oppo brings its new phone to the country anytime soon.

Oppo K5 specs and features

Speaking of specs, the Oppo K5 comes with a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage (this is a slight change from the Realme X2 that tops at 128GB storage) which is also expandable.

The dual-SIM Oppo K5 runs Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1 software. The Oppo K5 further packs a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging.

On to the cameras, the Oppo K5 comes with a four-camera setup on the rear. It has a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, the Oppo K5 has a 32MP camera.

Oppo has launched the Oppo K5 in China at a starting price of CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs 19,000) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage going all the way to CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,000) for the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Elsewhere, Oppo has also launched the flagship Reno Ace in China. The phone comes with a 6.5-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display that boasts of a 90Hz refresh rate and supports whopping 65W fast charging – that’s claimed to top the phone’s sizeable 4,000mAh battery in just 30 minutes. The Reno Ace also packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and boasts of a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main camera.
