In what could be Oppo's upcoming flagship device, a mysterious phone bearing the model name "Oppo Poseidon" was reportedly found listed on a benchmarking website Geekbench. Despite multiple reports citing a benchmark listing, we found no traces of any phone with that name on Geekbench. In fact, the original screenshot leaked by Slashleaks has also been taken down. But given the fact that a lot of news websites have already reported the leak story, we have all the details about the purported Geekbench listing.

As per the screenshots, the device codenamed Oppo Poseidon scored 3,810 and 10,963 in single-core test and multi-core tests respectively. Powering the handset is Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor ticking at 1.8GHz. Furthermore, the listing reveals that the handset runs Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

The successor to Qualcomm's current-gen flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC, the SD 855 supports 5G connectivity, courtesy of Qualcomm’s own Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Last year, Oppo filed a patent for 15W Qi wireless charging standard. Currently, no Oppo phone supports 15W wireless Qi charging standard. OPPO recently joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), which is nothing but a group of companies working and promoting Qi wireless charging standard. Since both OPPO and OnePlus fall under the same parent company, we can safely assume that they may be testing it out first on Oppo phones.

OnePlus, on the other hand, has already confirmed to introduce a 5G smartphone sometime in the first half of 2019. Qualcomm has also confirmed the arrival of 5G-compatible devices from OPPO in 2019.

Apart from the limited amount of information, we have no other details on Oppo Poseidon. But reports speculate that it could be Oppo R19 or Oppo Find X2. More information is awaited. As we know, we don't whether Oppo will be making an appearance at MWC 2019 next month.
