Oppo may be gearing to launch the Reno Ace in India soon, albeit the company may tweak it a little and also rebrand it for this market. According to a new 91mobiles report, Oppo will launch what seems like a high-end value flagship called the Reno S in India in the first week of December at a price of over Rs 40,000. The report also tips some key hardware specs of the phone in question.

Oppo Reno S rumoured specs

According to the report, the Oppo Reno S will come with a 64MP main camera like the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme XT. The Reno S is also said to support Oppo’s 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast charging also seen in the Oppo Reno Ace, which was only recently launched in China. Going by the pricing tipped here, the Oppo Reno S should be a lot closer to the Reno Ace as well as the Reno 10x Zoom – which means, chances are the phone may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (or even Snapdragon 855+) processor. More details are awaited.

The Oppo Reno Ace, which was recently launched in China, has a 6.5-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate – like the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. There’s a waterdrop-style notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The other key highlight of the Reno Ace is that it supports whopping 65W fast charging – that's the fastest for any smartphone to date.

The Oppo Reno Ace is powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855+ processor paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone runs Android 10-based ColorOS 6.1 and packs dual stereo speakers for immersive audio.

On to the cameras, the Oppo Reno Ace comes with a quad camera setup on the rear consisting of a main 48MP camera with Sony’s IMX586 sensor and OIS, a 13MP telephoto camera for up to 5x hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. On the front, the Reno Ace has a 16MP camera.

The Oppo Reno Ace sells in China at a starting price of CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 30,000) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage going all the way to CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 38,000) for the top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
