Rumors that Realme is working on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship phone have been doing the rounds for a while now. Now it’s official. Realme Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi Chase has taken to Chinese social media website Weibo to confirm that the company is indeed working on such a phone and that it is coming soon. The confirmation has been posted by a device called the Realme X2 Pro Super Samurai. Since Super Samurai is apparently the codename of this flagship phone, the Realme X2 Pro could well be it.

Realme X2 Pro incoming

Clearly, the Realme X2 Pro seems to be a Pro version of the Realme X2 which was recently launched in China. The Realme X2 is basically the Realme XT with a faster processor inside as well as faster charging. There’s also an upgraded 32MP selfie camera on the Realme X2 – even as the Realme XT comes with a 16MP selfie shooter. Realme is expected to launch the Realme X2 in India as the Realme XT 730G in December.

No further details about the Realme X2 Pro have been shared so far but going by how Realme likes to do things, we will know soon enough. Now that a coming soon tag is attached with the phone, it will be only about time that Realme starts dropping more hints with respect to hardware.

Speaking of the Realme X2, the phone comes with a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM Realme X2 runs Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 software.

The Realme X2 further packs a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The Realme X2 comes with a four-camera setup on the rear. It has a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, the Realme X2 has a 32MP camera.

It would be interesting to see if Realme opts for the same 64MP camera setup in the Realme X2 Pro or something else. Whatever be the case, the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and going by how Realme likes to price its devices, it is all but certain that the Realme X2 Pro will be directed at the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro.
