Oppo spinoff brand Realme started selling the Realme 3 phone in India from March 12 – and in just 3 weeks the company has sold 5 lakh Realme 3 phones in India. “Initially the brand sold over 3,11,800 units of the device in the first two rounds of sales,” Realme said in a statement adding that and the Realme 3 has “earned a rating of 4.5 on Flipkart.”
Realme launched the Realme 3 in India on March 4 – and the phone went on sale for the first time on March 12. The Realme 3 starts at Rs 8,999 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the top-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 10,999.
Successor to the Realme 2, the Realme 3 comes with a 6.2-inch 720p+ isplay with a teardrop/waterdrop-style notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The Realme 3 further packs a sizeable 4,230mAh battery with micro-USB charging (no fast charging).
The dual-SIM Realme 3 runs Oppo’s new ColorOS 6 which is based on Android 9 Pie – the ColorOS 6 update brings an all-new ‘borderless’ design and newer fonts, and also allows users to switch to an app drawer interface.
On to the cameras, the Realme 3 comes with a dual rear camera system consisting of a 13MP f/1.8 sensor and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Realme 3 comes with a 13MP camera.
The Realme 3 packs an updated design as well – over the Realme 1 and Realme 2. It has a unibody design with a gradient back – the Realme 3 is available in dynamic black, radiant blue and regular black colour options.
Realme is selling the Realme 3 via flash sales model – the next sale is scheduled for April 9.
