Oppo spin-off brand Realme launched the Realme XT phone in India on Friday at a starting price of Rs 15,999. The Realme XT is a lower mid-tier phone which packs a Super AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM, and 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It’s main USP though is its 64MP quad camera setup – the Realme XT is the first smartphone in India with a 64MP camera.

The Realme XT is not a successor to the Realme X though. Neither has it been designed to replace the Realme 5 Pro. Realme says the Realme XT marks the beginning of an all-new smartphone series in India.

Here’s a closer look at the Realme XT 64MP camera phone in pics.

-- The Realme XT boasts of a gradient design language that Realme is calling 3D hyperbola design. The phone will be available in two color options, Pearl Blue and Pearl White.

-- The Realme XT has a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Realme claims a screen-to-body ratio of a 91.9 per cent on this one. The Realme XT also ditches a conventional fingerprint scanner for an optical in-display solution.

-- Under the hood, the Realme XT has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage which is also expandable via a dedicated micro-SD card slot.

-- The dual-SIM Realme XT runs Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 software.

-- The Realme XT packs a 4,000mAh battery and supports Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 flash charge. Realme will be bundling a 20W fast charger and a proprietary Type-C cable in the box.

-- The Realme XT has a four-camera setup on the rear – there's a 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 119-degree field-of-view, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. The main camera uses Samsung’s 64MP GW1 sensor.

-- On the front, the Realme XT has a 16MP camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor.

-- Realme has launched the Realme XT in India in as many as three variants - 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB. While the 4GB/64GB variant has been launched for Rs 15,999, the 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB variants will sell for Rs 16,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively. The Realme XT will go on sale for the first time in India on September 16 from Flipkart and Realme’s online store.
