If you use the Reliance Jio JioPhones and prefer to invest only a fraction of money on recharging your prepaid accounts, then a new Rs 98 tariff has now surfaced. USP of this data offering is that it offers 2 GB data. Then, there are free + unlimited voice calling.

Rs 98 plan, with extra data compensated for IUC recharge

Here, to subscribe to this scheme, you would also be required to recharge for an additional Rs 10 – blame it on IUC. Hence, the total recharge value, here, would be Rs 108 which is still decent. As far as non-Jio calling is concerned, there would be 124 free IUC minutes with the extra Rs 10 recharge. This should be useful in case most of your loved ones and relatives are on Reliance Jio. There are also higher-value IUC charges as well.

Nonetheless, for JioPhone users –preferring general everyday usage and a decent experience, the Rs 98 (plus Rs 10) should do a world of good. The data offering, under this scheme, is 2GB. The plan is valid for 28 days. There are, obviously, free text messages which you could send. Hee, you should remember that for every IUC-specific recharge you make, there would be additional data offered. “Recent steps towards reversing enacted regulation on IUC by TRAI has compelled Jio to recover IUC of 6 paise per minute for all mobile voice calls to other operators. This recovery of IUC will continue only until the IUC charge is made zero by TRAI,” states Jio. “You will have the option to select a suitable IUC TOP-UP voucher starting at Rs 10, that can be used to make such non-Jio calls. To compensate our customers for the cost of these additional IUC top-ups, we will offer an additional 1 GB of data for every 10-rupee spent, absolutely free,” it adds.
