Samsung has given its entry-level Galaxy A10 phone a refresh, adding useful essentials like a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, dual rear cameras, and a large 4,000mAh battery. The updated variant is called the Galaxy A10s and it should likely land in India in the days to come. The Galaxy A10 was launched in India at a price of Rs 8,490. The Galaxy A10s pricing is unknown at this point of time, but it should be slightly higher.

Design-wise, the Galaxy A10s is identical to the Galaxy A10. Samsung is using its 3D ‘glasstic’ design in all its new Galaxy A-series phones which seems to be its take on the gradient design scheme seen in competing products – all these phones are essentially made of plastic with glossy finish in layman terms though. The Galaxy A10s is no different – which is fine at its entry-level pricing. If it’s any consolation, the Galaxy A10s will be available in a slew of colours – blue, green, red and black. Also, the Galaxy A10s gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, something which was missing in the Galaxy A10.

Speaking of specs, the Galaxy A10s comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V notch display and a 2GHz octa-core processor (unspecified) with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable by up to 512GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI software. It packs a 4,00mAh battery with micro-USB charging.

The Galaxy A10s has dual rear cameras consisting of one 13MP rear sensor with f/1.8 aperture and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front the Galaxy A10s comes with an 8MP camera.

To refresh, the Galaxy A10 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V notch display and an Exynos7884 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable. The Galaxy A10 runs Android Pie-based One UI. It packs a 3,400mAh battery with micro-USB charging. The Galaxy A10 has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The Galaxy A10 does not have any fingerprint scanner.
