Samsung’s next Galaxy A-series device to launch in India will be the Galaxy A70 – unless Samsung springs another a surprise, that is. The Galaxy A70 is coming soon to India, possibly by the end of this month. The company has started teasing the Galaxy A70 on social media and there’s also a dedicated notify-me page for the Galaxy A70 that has just gone live – and, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A70 will be available in global markets from April 26.

During its keynote Galaxy A event in Bangkok, Samsung had announced the Galaxy A80 (which is slated to hit the shelves globally from May 29) while also announcing the global availability details of the Galaxy A70 – which is April 26. While the Galaxy A80 was a closely guarded secret until the keynote, Samsung had already revealed everything about the Galaxy A70.

In line with Samsung's new-age product strategy with regards to its new Galaxy A devices, the Galaxy A70 also brings many firsts to the lineup including an unusually tall 20:9 Infinity U screen and 25W super-fast charging - both of which are also a first for Samsung.

Speaking of specs, the Galaxy A70 has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display and a 2GHz octa-core processor (unspecified) with 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI. The Galaxy A70 further packs a sizeable 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging through USB Type-C.

On to the cameras, the Galaxy A70 comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 32MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Galaxy A70 comes with a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

While it does not have a motorized rotating camera like the Galaxy A80, the Galaxy A70 brings a tall aspect ratio screen to the affordable mid-range segment – that should ideally be targeted towards users who like to consume lots of content on the go.
