Samsung Galaxy A70 India launch next week, said to cost under Rs 30,000

Samsung will launch the Galaxy A70 phone in India next week, according to a new IANS report. Come to think of it, the launch window isn’t surprising since Samsung has already started teasing the Galaxy A70 on social media and there’s also a dedicated notify-me page for the Galaxy A70 that is already up and running – and, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A70 will be available in global markets from April 26.   

The same report tips the price of the Galaxy A70 to lie in between Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000 – making the Galaxy A70 a gradual progression of the Galaxy A50 in terms of both pricing and feature set.  

The Galaxy A70 packs an unusually tall 20:9 Infinity U screen and 25W super-fast charging - both of which are a first for Samsung which falls in line with the company’s new-age strategy with the Galaxy A phones.  

Speaking of specs, the Galaxy A70 has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display and a 2GHz octa-core processor with 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI. The Galaxy A70 further packs a sizeable 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging through USB Type-C.   

On the cameras front, the Galaxy A70 comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 32MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Galaxy A70 comes with a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. 

Samsung will be also bringing the rotating camera toting Galaxy A80 to India, but that will happen in May – which is again in line with the Galaxy A80’s global availability. The Galaxy A80 will reportedly be priced in between Rs 45,000-Rs 50,000. 

"We will launch the Galaxy A70 in India next week in the Rs 25,000 - Rs. 30,000 bracket and the Galaxy A80 in the Rs 45,000 - Rs. 50,000 bracket in May," Ranjivjit Singh, who is chief marketing officer and senior vice president at Samsung India was quoted by IANS as saying.
