Samsung will launch its fourth Galaxy M-series phone, aka the Galaxy M40, in India on June 11. Samsung has started teasing the Galaxy M40 across its social media channels revealing full design and a few key specs of the soon-to-launch phone. Just like the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30, the Galaxy M40 will also be sold online-only – through Amazon India and Samsung’s own e-store. The Galaxy M40 will come with features like a punch-hole display and triple rear cameras, at a speculated price of around Rs 25,000.

The punch-hole design is currently limited to Samsung’s top-tier Galaxy S10 phones in India – Samsung calls the setup as Infinity-O. The Galaxy M40 will not only be the most affordable Samsung phone, it could well be the most affordable smartphone in the world with such a setup.

Triple rear cameras are becoming increasingly common in budget and mid-tier Samsung phones thanks to its new-age Galaxy A line-up. The Galaxy M30 has three rear cameras as well and the Galaxy M40 will also follow suit - although there’s no word on the resolution and type of cameras involved here.

Unlike the Galaxy M30 or for that matter, any other current-generation Galaxy M phone, the Galaxy M40 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Samsung teasers confirm an unnamed Snapdragon 600-series chipset. Rumor has it that the Galaxy M40 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor like the Galaxy A70 – also, the phone has been rumored to come with up to 6GB RAM, Android 9 Pie-based One UI and a 5,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy M40 will obviously be the most feature-rich as well as the most expensive in the Galaxy M40 lot. To recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy M30 in India in February at a starting price of Rs 14,990 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, going all the way to Rs 17,990 for the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Come to think of it, a Rs 25,000 price bracket for the Galaxy M40 won’t be surprising since it is “set to be the most powerful offering in the series.”
