Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E global launch is incoming. Although Samsung hasn’t categorically confirmed that it will launch three new Galaxy S10 phones at its Unpacked 2019 keynote event on February 20, there have been enough leaks and rumours already that seemingly confirm the existence of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E ahead of D-day. Regardless, February 20 isn’t all that far now, so we will know soon enough.

This is not the first time that Samsung is skipping MWC (which is scheduled for February 25-28 this year) and hosting a stand-alone Unpacked keynote event earlier than expected. The Galaxy S10 marks 10 years of the Galaxy S, and quite rightly so, deserves its own special event. Another reason why Samsung could be jumping the gun and launching the Galaxy S10 early is because the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 have not been doing well from a sales perspective. Samsung is optimistic about the upcoming flagship Galaxy S10 – the name is confirmed by Samsung in its earnings report – to “prop up sales and business performance in the coming months.”

The Galaxy S10 line-up is expected to bring many an industry first for Samsung. Not only is Samsung said to be looking at an updated near all-screen and no-bezel design (the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 carried the same design), it is also said to be looking at new hardware including gobs of RAM and storage. Three options would meanwhile mean there’s likely going to be a little something for everybody. Here are all the rumoured specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E that are worth getting excited about:

Galaxy S10: Punch-hole and ceramic design

At its annual developer conference in November last year, Samsung had announced that all its future devices will be characterized by Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O and New Infinity-style screens. The Galaxy S10 line-up is expected to come with an Infinity-O display which is essentially Samsung’s take on the punch-hole design we’ve seen in phones like the Honor View 20. The Galaxy S10 won’t be the first Samsung phone with an Infinity-O notch though. The company already has a Galaxy A8s in China with such a setup.

The Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E are all said to come with a punch-hole notch design with the Galaxy S10+ carrying as many as two selfie cameras embedded into the display. The second selfie camera could be wide-angle like it is in the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10E are said to come with a single camera embedded into the display.

The Galaxy S10E, which is said to be Samsung’s take on the iPhone XR, will reportedly come with a smaller 5.8-inch (likely Super AMOLED) screen with a flatter bezel as opposed to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ which will retain Samsung’s hallmark curves on all sides. The Galaxy S10E is also said to pack a conventional fingerprint scanner as opposed to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ which will come with in-display fingerprint scanners. In the Galaxy S10E, the power button on the side will double as a fingerprint scanner, which isn’t ideal, but certainly not new for a Samsung phone. Lastly, the Galaxy S10E is said to come with dual rear cameras as opposed to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ which will reportedly come with three rear cameras.

But where the Galaxy S10E will fall short in terms of top-tier design, it will more than compensate for through its unique colours. Like the iPhone XR, the Galaxy S10E will reportedly be available in choice of colours, including Canary Yellow, Prism Black, Green, White and Blue.

The highest-end variant of the Galaxy S10+ will be similarly unique in its own way. There are rumours that the highest-end variant of the Galaxy S10+ will be made of ceramic (a first for Samsung) which will be scratch resistant and also resistant to falling. All the other Galaxy S10 phones will be all-glass and metal.

Button placement is expected to be classic Galaxy S, which means, power button on the right and volume rocker and Bixby button on the left. Samsung is expected to retain the headphone jack in all the models.

Galaxy S10: New hardware, gobs of RAM and storage

The Galaxy S10 line-up will come with updated hardware. An Exynos 9820 (for India)/Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (for the US) processor will be on the cards and all the three models are expected to share the same core hardware. RAM, storage and battery capacity will be different. While the Galaxy S10E will reportedly be available in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage only, the highest-end Galaxy S10+ SKU is expected to pack a whopping 12GB RAM and 1TB storage configuration.

The Galaxy S10E, which will ideally be the smallest and cheapest option in the Galaxy S10 lineup, will reportedly come with a 5.8-inch display and a 3,100mAh battery.

Galaxy S10: Price and availability

The Galaxy S10E is said to cost around Rs 61,000 in Europe. The vanilla Galaxy S10 will reportedly start at around Rs 73,000 in Europe and will be available with up to 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The Galaxy S10+ is meanwhile said to start at around Rs 81,000 in Europe while the top-end variant with 12GB RAM, 1TB storage and ceramic back will cost around a whopping Rs 1,22,000 in Europe.
