The Galaxy S10 not only has the best smartphone display ever, it is also the most accurate

The Samsung Galaxy S10 has the best smartphone display ever, according to analysis firm DisplayMate. Like clockwork, Samsung’s signature AMOLED screens keep charting new benchmarks each year when it comes to all-round display quality – but they’ve been far from perfect. The Galaxy S10 changes that and a lot of this has to with Samsung’s new Dynamic tech that the company has put in this year. The result – the Galaxy S10 not only has the best smartphone display ever, it is also the most accurate.

DisplayMate says, Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED display boasts of a very high colour accuracy – both in terms of contrast as well as in terms of intensity. The new panel is also 17 per cent brighter than the one on its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 - chalking a whopping 1,215 nits of peak brightness. Viewing angles are quite good (an improvement over the Galaxy S9) with minimal colour and white shifting, DisplayMate adds. You can read the full analysis here

“After a comprehensive evaluation process, DisplayMate Technologies has deemed the Galaxy S10’s display “the most color accurate display that we have ever tested, [and] almost certainly considerably better than your existing smartphone, 4K UHD TV, tablet, laptop, and computer monitor,” Samsung said in a press statement on Tuesday.

This is the first time that Samsung is offering as many as three Galaxy S phones in one go – while the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are successors to last year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Samsung also has the affordable Galaxy S10E that tries to bring most of their features into a relatively more mainstream package.

The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ come with 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch screens with QHD+ resolution. The Galaxy S10E has a smaller 5.8-inch screen with a 1080p+ resolution - to seemingly justify its lower price tag. Samsung is calling its new displays Dynamic AMOLED, and these are also HDR10+ certified. A punch-hole notch (Infinity-O) is standard across the board.

Samsung will officially launch its Galaxy S10 trio of phones in India on March 6, although the company has already announced pricing as well as availability details – the Galaxy S10E, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are now available for pre-order in India. Price starts as low as Rs 55,900 for the Galaxy S10E (6GB RAM/128GB storage) going all the way to Rs 1,17,900 for the top-end Galaxy S10+ with 12GB RAM, 1TB storage and ceramic back. The Galaxy S10 will meanwhile start at Rs 66,900 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB configuration.
