It's been months since South Korean electronics Samsung is readying its most-awaited Galaxy S10 flagship line. Samsung is hosting its forthcoming UNPACKED event next month (February 20) in San Francisco, ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. Samsung is also teasing the event in Paris.

So far, we have come across numerous leaks and reports about Samsung Galaxy S10 highlighting display cutouts, software updates, camera and more. Samsung is tipped to announce three or four new variants of its 2019's flagship. Now, a new report has emerged suggesting that at least one of the models would feature the in-display fingerprint sensor.

So following in the footsteps of Vivo, Oppo and OnePlus, Samsung could be the next major smartphone brand to offer a fingerprint sensor that goes behind the display. Folks over at XDA performed a teardown on the latest version of Samsung Pay app, and there were "very explicit" references to the in-display fingerprint sensor.

The code-name of Samsung Galaxy S10 was also found mentioned in the app's code. These references were linked to the payment authentication window in the Samsung Pay app or supported websites.

The code suggests that Samsung Pay app would check whether the handset includes an in-display fingerprint sensor. If it detects the in-display fingerprint sensor, it would stir the payment flow window at the bottom a bit higher up in order to make more room for authentication.

All the rumoured variants of the Galaxy S10 bear the exact same code-name. That's what makes it difficult to figure out what all variants can be expected to feature the in-display fingerprint sensor. Rumour has it that its cheapest model would feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

More details are awaited.
