The next Galaxy M-series phone from Samsung may be coming to an offline store near you, according to a new ET report. The Galaxy M-series, to recall, has been an online-only affair in India since launch. The Galaxy M line-up is sold via Amazon India and Samsung’s own e-store.

The lineup – which is an exclusive to the Indian market – was launched earlier in the year to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup. Not only has Samsung opted to sell these Galaxy M phones online-only, it has also adopted a flash sales model for a few models – like the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 – to generate hype.

That said, Samsung bringing an online-only series offline won’t be totally surprising. Xiaomi has been bringing more and more of its phones to brick-and-mortar stores as well. With Samsung’s pan India reach, the Galaxy M-series, which has been witnessing positive response from buyers, is surely to help the company reach more buyers.

But more than anything, the move will help offline sellers gain traction from buyers who’re increasingly flocking to online channels tempted by schemes and offers. In some cases, there’s also a price disparity – online prices are generally more aggressive than their offline counterparts. Although the ET report suggests Samsung may launch its next Galaxy M phone offline “at the same time and same price,” which could be an interesting proposition.

The Galaxy M-series made its debut in February this year with the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 phones. Samsung has since added a slew of options to the line-up with competitive specs and competitive pricing. Its latest Galaxy M phone, aka Galaxy M30s, brings a Super AMOLED display, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, 48MP triple rear cameras, and a ginormous 6,000mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charging, for Rs 13,999.

Samsung is yet to announce its next Galaxy M phone, but going by the nature of the line-up, the company may start dropping hints about it soon enough.
