Vivo has launched the Vivo Y12 in India, a budget phone with triple rear cameras and 5,000mAh battery to take on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. Vivo has launched the Vivo Y12 in India at a price of Rs 12,490 – this is for the variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Vivo Y12 is available for buying in India from Vivo’s own online store and Amazon India in two colour options - Burgundy Red and Aqua Blue.

Speaking of specs, the Vivo Y12 comes with a 6.35-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a dew-drop notch. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with up to 4GB RAM and up to 32GB storage which is also expandable. The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9 software and packs a massive 5,000mAh battery under the hood.

On to the optics, the Vivo Y12 comes with three rear cameras – a 13MP main camera, an 8MP super-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait photography. On the front the Vivo Y12 comes with an 8MP camera.

Speaking of design, the Vivo Y12 comes with an all-plastic body with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo Y12 launch comes days ahead of the Vivo Z1 Pro India launch. Vivo will launch the Vivo Z1 Pro in India on July 3. Not only will the Z1 Pro be Vivo’s first smartphone with a punch-hole display in India, it will also be very aggressively priced – we expect Vivo to launch the Z1 Pro in India at a price of under Rs 20,000. Chances are the Vivo Z1 Pro could be the cheapest phone with punch-hole selfie camera in India undercutting the recently launched Samsung Galaxy M40 with multiple variants.

As for specs, the Vivo Z1 Pro has a 6.53-inch 1080p+ IPS LCD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage under the hood. The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9. The Vivo Z1 Pro further packs a massive 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.
