TRAI Do Not Disturb (DND) app is now available for Apple iPhone users at the Apple iTunes store. With this, iOS users can potentially kep unwanted telemarketing calls at bay. Spam calls could also be reported to TRAI.

If you are an iOS user you could register for the Do Not Disturb (DND) service. The app would communicate your DND registration request to your wireless service provider. At this juncture, it is worth remembering that registration of numbers under DND would take up to 7 days post your request to the telco.

In case you desire to report spam/unwanted calls, the app automatically initiates a text message containing a complaint template which could then be sent to the telco. Also, the app would not block genuine business calls and text messages.

Registration under the app, for DND is an easy 4-step process:

  • Step 1: Sign-up for DND service by keying in your telephone number
  • Step 2: Select block all calls or choose to filter by category of calls and messages you would want to block
  • Activate and set the DND extension
  • In case you would want to report spam calls, swipe towards the right on the number and select Report.

As far as the details of the iOS DND app are concerned, the app weights in at 9.1 MB and requires iOS12.1 or higher versions and operates with iPhones, iPod Touch, and iPads.
