Because Vivo is indeed selling smartphones for Rs 101 but conditions apply.
Vivo has announced an offline-only offer that it is calling “New Phone, New You” to usher in the new year. The offer starts from December 20, 2018 and will last until January 21, 2019, that is for a period of 41 days. The offer, as mentioned earlier, is offline-only which means it will be applicable across physical retail stores – across 45,000+ Vivo-BFL mapped partner stores to be precise – only.
Now, coming to the least exciting bit – or the most exciting bit depending on how you perceive it – which is how on earth is Vivo going to sell you a smartphone for Rs 101. Well, here is how.
Under the “New Phone, New You” promotional sales event, Vivo will be selling all its smartphones that cost above Rs 10,000 for an immediate payment of Rs 101. The rest of your smartphone’s price will have to paid in 6 equal EMIs. That’s right. You will still need to pay the whole amount; only Vivo will let you make the payment in EMIs.
Here is how Vivo breaks it down for buyers:
--Visit any of the 45,000+ Vivo-BFL mapped partner stores
--Carry your basic KYC document (PAN Card, Voter ID card, Aadhaar Card etc)
--Select your Vivo device (Nex, V11, V11 Pro, Y95, Y83 Pro, Y81-4G)
--Pay an upfront fee of Rs 101 and submit your KYC documents to the retailer
--The device MOP will be divided into 6 equal EMI’s as per the scheme construct
