Vivo S5 full design, specs leak ahead of Nov 14 launch

Vivo is gearing to launch the Vivo S5 phone in China on November 14. Ahead of D-day, the company has shared the first official render of the phone in question on Weibo leaving nothing to the imagination. The render confirms that the Vivo S5 will come with a punch-hole display like the Vivo Z1 Pro and 48MP quad rear cameras. The Vivo S5 will also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner which invariably means that it would use an OLED panel.  

Vivo S5 rumoured specs

Vivo hasn’t revealed the hardware specs of the Vivo S5 just yet – that of course would happen on November 14. But the phone has already been spotted on certification website TENAA revealing almost everything that there is to know about it. Basis of the listing, the Vivo S5 will come with a 6.44-inch 1080p+ display – with an OLED panel as has been confirmed by Vivo. 

Under the hood, the Vivo S5 is said to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. A 4,010mAh battery is said to power the whole thing. On to the cameras, the Vivo S5 is said to come with a 48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, and 2MP macro setup. On the front, the phone is said to come with a 32MP selfie camera. 

Vivo launched its S-series in India first. The debut S-series phone, aka Vivo S1 sells in India a starting price of Rs 17,990 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, going all the way to Rs 19,990 for the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. 

Speaking of specs, the Vivo S1 comes with a 6.38-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with waterdrop-style notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P65 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9. The Vivo S1 further packs a massive 4,500mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. 

On to the cameras, the Vivo S1 comes with triple rear cameras – a 16MP main camera with f/1.78 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and another 2MP sensor for portrait photography. On the front, the S1 comes with a 32MP camera.
