Vivo will launch the first phone in its new online-focused U-series in India on September 24. The company is now sending out block your date invites to the media for a launch event scheduled for September 24 where it will launch the U10 phone for the Indian market. The invite also reveals that the U10 will come with a waterdrop-style notch on the front, in addition to being a product designed for “price conscious consumers.” The latter was confirmed by Vivo at the time of announcing the U-series recently. 

Budget phone

Although the U-series follows close on the heels of the Z-series, both of them focus on different price segments. While the Z-series caters to the mid-tier price segment, the U-series will be a more budget offering – with a price expected to be around Rs 10,000. Vivo has confirmed that the U10 will come with fast charging support and will “focus on powerful performance and long-lasting battery besides providing best-in-class processer. The U-series phones will be sold online via Amazon India. 

“We strongly believe in offering innovative and personalized experiences that meet the varied preferences and requirements of our customers across the country. Our association with Amazon.in for our brand-new U-series portfolio will help us cater to the specific needs of our Gen Z customers who want a reliable, responsive and performance- driven smartphone that fits their budget well,” Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India said in a press statement recently. 

In other news, Vivo is also gearing to launch the V17 Pro phone in India on September 20. The company has also started teasing the phone in question on social media highlighting its biggest USP – a 32MP dual pop-up selfie camera setup. Vivo has many pop-up camera phones to its name, but this will be the first time it is coming up with a phone with dual pop-up shooters.    

Rumored hardware specs of the Vivo V17 Pro include a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with in-display fingerprint scanner, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage, and a 4,100mAh battery.
