Days after launching the premiere V15 Pro, Vivo has launched the V15 phone in India. The V15 is simply a toned-down version of the V15 Pro that keeps the design aesthetics and pop-up selfie camera setup intact, but its Rs 23,990 price tag means hardware specs have been tweaked to seemingly justify its lower cost. The Vivo V15 will be available for buying in India from April 1 from the company’s own e-store, Amazon India, Flipkart, PayTm Mall, Tata CLiQ and all offline channels across the country.

The Vivo V15 shares the design of the V15 Pro, including its 32MP pop-up selfie camera. But it swaps the Pro’s 48MP primary rear camera for a 12MP shooter – the other two cameras in the triple cam setup are the same though, which means the Vivo V15 also comes with a secondary wide-angle 8MP and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography.

The processor has been toned down too. Unlike the Vivo V15 Pro, the Vivo V15 packs a MediaTek Helio P70 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable.

The Vivo V15 comes with a 6.53-inch 1080p+ LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and uses a 4,000mAh battery with micro-USB charging (fast charging is supported).

Software inside is Android Pie-based FunTouch OS 9.

Unlike the Vivo V15 Pro that has an in-display fingerprint scanner, the Vivo V15 has a conventional fingerprint scanner on the back.

“At Vivo, we believe in bringing the best in technology and user experience to our consumers. The recently launched V15 Pro received an overwhelming response from the consumers, and with the launch of V15 we further want to provide our consumers with the opportunity to experience innovative technologies such as Pop-up camera and Ultra Full-View display at an exciting price point,” Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India said in a statement.
