Days after launching the punch-hole toting Z1 Pro, Vivo has launched a follow-up phone called the Z1x in India. The Z1x is a thorough update to the Z1 Pro in almost all the departments, seemingly justifying its higher price tag. Vivo has launched the Z1x in India at a starting price of Rs 16,990 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage going all the way to Rs 18,990 for the top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.   

Vivo Z1x specs and features

Speaking of specs, the Vivo Z1x comes with a 6.38-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340-pixel resolution and waterdrop-style notch. There’s also an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Broadly speaking, the Vivo Z1x will be available in two configurations - 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.1. The Vivo Z1x further packs a massive 4,500mAh battery and supports 22.5W Vivo FlashCharge through USB Type-C.  

Design and Camera

In terms of design, even though the Vivo Z1x is made entirely out of plastic. Vivo is using a glossy gradient finish on this one so it looks more like glass from afar. The phone will be available in two colours, Fusion Blue and Phantom Purple. On to the cameras, the Vivo Z1x comes with triple rear cameras – a 48MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and another 2MP sensor for portrait photography. On the front, the Z1x comes with a 32MP camera embedded into the display cut-out. 

Vivo will start selling the Z1x in India from September 13 from Flipkart and its own e-store. “We are excited to launch the Z1x as our second offering under the online focused Z series. We received an overwhelming response for Z1Pro in India, and we are confident that Z1x, with its powerful-packed features will delight our customers,” Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India said in a statement. While the Z1 Pro was the cheapest phone with punch-hole display (it still is), the Z1x is trying to play a more balancing act on all the front, if its paper specs are anything to go by.
