Vivo launched the entry-level Y90 phone in India on Friday at a price of Rs 6,990. The Vivo Y90 brings a large 6.22-inch waterdrop screen and a sizeable 4,030mAh battery to the entry-level phone segment. The Vivo Y90 will be available in Black and Gold colour options across all offline partner stores and major e-commerce websites starting from July 27 July. 

“In line with our India strategy, we work relentlessly to provide consumers with a wide spectrum of products with innovative features that meets their specific requirements across different price brackets. The latest addition to our Y-Series portfolio is a significant step in this direction. The Y90 caters to the increasing expectations of our consumers who are on a constant look-out for a device with bigger battery and bigger display at a highly affordable price point,” Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India said in a press statement. 

Speaking of specs, the Vivo Y90 comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ in-cell display and a MediaTek Helio A22 processor under the hood paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a micro-SD card slot. The dual SIM Vivo Y90 runs older Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.5 and packs a 4,030mAh battery with micro-USB charging, The Vivo Y90 further comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. 

In other news, Vivo is gearing to launch the Vivo S1 affordable mid-ranger phone in India on August 7. Vivo has tied up with Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan for its new S-series. The S1 is already a go in select markets which means we already know everything about it – and Vivo is likely to launch it at around Rs 20,000 in India.   

The Vivo S1 comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 16MP sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and another 5MP sensor for portraits. On the front the Vivo S1 has a 32MP camera. The Vivo S1 has a 6.38-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display (with waterdrop notch) and a MediaTek Helio P65 processor under the hood. This is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM Vivo S1 runs Android 9 Pie-based Funtouch OS 9 and packs a substantial 4,5000mAh battery inside.
