Vivo has launched a new Y-series mid-ranger called the Vivo Y17 in India for Rs 17,990. The Vivo Y17 comes with a large 6.35-inch display with a waterdrop or teardrop-style notch and an even larger 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Vivo Y17 is now available for buying from across Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm, and Vivo’s own e-store, as well as from physical retail stores across the country.

Speaking of specs, the Vivo Y17 comes with a 6.35-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop or teardrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a 2.3Ghz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie based Funtouch OS 9. The Vivo Y17 further packs a sizeable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support through micro-USB.

On to the cameras, the Vivo Y17 comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of one 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel super wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait photography. On the front, the Vivo Y17 comes with a 20-megapixel camera.

In terms of design, the Vivo Y17 comes with an all-plastic body with a glossy finish – the phone will be available in mineral blue and mystic purple hues. The Vivo Y17 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

In other news, Vivo recently launched the Vivo V15 in India for Rs 23,990. The V15 is simply a toned-down version of the V15 Pro that keeps the design aesthetics and pop-up selfie camera setup intact, but its Rs 23,990 price tag means hardware specs have been tweaked to seemingly justify its lower cost.

The Vivo V15 shares the design of the V15 Pro, including its 32MP pop-up selfie camera. But it swaps the Pro’s 48MP primary rear camera for a 12MP shooter – the other two cameras in the triple cam setup are the same though, which means the Vivo V15 also comes with a secondary wide-angle 8MP and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography.

The processor has been toned down too. Unlike the Vivo V15 Pro, the Vivo V15 packs a MediaTek Helio P70 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable. The Vivo V15 comes with a 6.53-inch 1080p+ LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and uses a 4,000mAh battery with micro-USB charging (fast charging is supported).
